The brand

Founded in 2007, Le Comptoir de Mathilde makes most of its recipes with care, expertise and passion, creating beautiful and delicious chocolate and delicatessen products in its factory in France. 

Our history

It was here that Mathilde, a baker by trade and grandmother of a certain Richard, lived. In 2007, the Saint-Etienne native decided to pay tribute to the woman who had inspired his childhood, and opened a small delicatessen store in Nyons: "Le Comptoir de Mathilde", selling bulk products such as olive oil, vinegar, tapenade, liqueur and more. With his heart set on selling good, attractive products, he has added manufacturer to retailer. Without inheriting a storefront, he embarked on this adventure as one would search for treasure, with the ambition of flying the flag for quality French gastronomy. A first boutique, then a second, and Richard launches into franchise development and invests in a 24,000 m² production facility to satisfy the gourmets of Grandma Mathilde's great descendants..

With more than 20 original recipes made from quality ingredients (up to 55% hazelnut paste), without palm oil or GMOs, we wanted you to rediscover the real taste of hazelnuts.

Le Comptoir de Mathilde is first and foremost an accessible family brand that brings people together for convivial, festive moments. It expresses its know-how, its sense of humor and its generosity through the teams of the boutiques that you'll find all over France.

Immerse yourself in a soft, comforting universe where each of our boutiques is personalized with hand-painted decorations by our artist painter. The decor is made of reclaimed wood and antique objects, creating a warm, reassuring setting in which to indulge in nostalgic flavors. Enhanced customer comfort and the guidance of our in-store advisors contribute to awakening the 5 senses: a tantalizing smell of chocolate, a vintage soundtrack, meticulous and regressive decoration, tasting moments as soon as you enter the boutique, and gift boxes to fill at your easer to create a personalized present.
